Yo, word for keeping this place held down, sorry I ain't posted in a while, I haven't heard anything new (and good)
First up - what do you think of that Don't Flop stuff? I don't really know what to make of itr, it's so far removed from music, or rapping it's hard to know what it is really. It's basically an insult contest, which is pretty entertaining, but it doesn't have much to do with Hip Hop as far as I can see. James, that end of year rap up was great, and Bin i am amazed but i loved that chatter tune by Rizzle kicks.
Here's something i found a great listen, I always listen to Preemo's show (which has been shit of late) I'm sure you know, the idea of the show is that it's stright up new music, on New years though preemo just plays his favourite tunes from the 80's it's fucking great.
The best thing about it is a battle between Starsky and Kool Moe D. It's not a battle, it's a complete squash match, a total demolition. If it was a real fight, the ref would be leaping in to stop it long before the end, it starts at about 27 mins in if you don't wanna listen to the whole thing, but, yeah, i really recommend checking that out. Also for his first show of the year he did his top 25 albums of the year which is worth a listen

Aside from that i don't have much to offer, I really liked this, it's meant to be unreleased porno music, i hope it really is, it's good

ReplyDeleteWhen I watched it my first thought is "no one actually freestyles in battles anymore, what is the point?".
And then I remembered that freestyling is usually rubbish, and I don't like watching rap battles for the most part, but that I was thoroughly entertained by that clip. So it is probably better for it.
Dare I say, that RK track reminds me of Bizarre Ride era Pharcyde. I'mma have to cop the album and see what it's like. I'll report back..
