Nasty Nas

After posting Back to the grill again a while ago, I thought it would be a good idea to find any Nas stuff from the Illmatic era, thinking he might be as amazing as he was on that album, featuiring or guesting on other songs. i was wrong. Apart from Back to the grill, after illmatic he did some shit guest spots, this forgetable effort from the dream team of Kool G rap and Nas is only worth posting for the fucking up of their gangster handshake at about 0.15 seconds

Another (much later 1999)Dream team pairing of Nas and Slick rick is okay, I, like you I assume have heard this song a shit load of times but I didn't ever pay attention to the rapping. Nas is appalling on this tune, I was shocked when I payed attention to his lyrics. Also when listening to the art of story telling, I always get the impression that slick rick is a bender. He always mentions gay blokes, likes going straight to the butthole an is a rapist. All very gay traits.  Also, I think the persecution  lawyers at his rape trial should have just played adults only to the jury.  lyrics like this just make it seem like he's more interested in blokes than women,

And when I step into a room, pimps hide they hoes
"Is that really him?" "Yes, that's his Highness
and for the last time stop lookin at his fine ass"
(Y'know!) Homosexuals, smirk, converse and say
"That nigga box is WORKIN girlfriend!"

So during illmatic Nas guested on cuban links with his pitch perfect verse on Verbal intercourse, drops another shit hot verse on Mobb deep's Eye for an eye.  I actually like the rapping on this, 'one on one' - from the street fighter soundtrack, the beat is pretty soft though, in drastic need of a remix.

He also did 2 tracks on AZ's do or die. I really like AZ's flow, I  haven't given either of these tunes a good airing, though I have Dl'd this album, it's meant to be a classic, I'll give it a spin and let you know what I think.
Gimmie yours  and

Mo Money Mo Murder

(stupid font due to cut and pasting)

damit now everything is big. So, a pretty inconclusive and confused post, there's not alot of other great nas stuff out there that we didn't already know about.

also what the fuck is elhzi doing with his nas tribute stuff? I can't think of a single reason why it might be a good idea, it's lame...

'Nuff respect to the projects I'm ghost one love.
