Ghostfunk

Speaking of Wu Tang mashups and afrobeat....

Here's Ghostfunk. I only listened to one track so far, but I've got it downloading.

Tbh, listening to all those other mashups just made me stick on 36 Chambers and listen to that anyway.

(Listening a bit more now, just thought I would note, these are proper remixes using some really cool african funk tracks not just straight blends. I'm really enjoying it)

Sup people, here's a link to a mix i made the other day

Let me know what you think!!

Seun Kuti & Egypt 80 - Rise

Hey have you got this Seun Kuti album from this year - "From Africa with Rage"? It's really good.. very like Fela.

Sunday, 17 July 2011

Hey I've only listened to that mixtape once or twice I wasn't really sold. I'll give it another spin though, I liked the fear of God single though. Did you know malice has found religion and is releasing or has released a book. Didn't like that wu mash up at all, it sounded to me like the wu over that beth ditto (very fat singer from a band I've forgotten) hit single. When it comes to Wu mash ups there is so much crap out there. The best of them by a country mile are the
'Enter The Magical Mystery Chambers' by Tom Caruan. He's not just shoved Wu over a Beatles tune but he's made some amazing beats from Beatles stuff and put some choice WU over them.

check out the C.R.E.A.M remix too, it's great, I can't post it here for some reason.

Count Bass D and DJ Pocket-New Day [Official Video]

A nice Count Bass D track. I rather enjoy his smooth voice, and it works great over this beat.

Fugazi / Wu Tang mashup album

Cecil Otter* has made this pretty cool mix; here's a download link - Wugazi - 13 Chambers.

Sample track:

I've finally got around to giving some proper rotation to that Pusha T mixtape and I'm really enjoying it. What do you think of it JR?

You really have been enjoying that Preemo Rare Play mix, huh James?

* from Doomtree, who suck, but don't let that and his terrible name put you off

MC search - Back to the grill again

 Cool tune, posted cause it has a verse from Nasty Nas during his period of being the greatest to hold a mike. Damn he fell off, he has occasional glimpses but, why couldn't he have stayed this good?

Tuesday, 12 July 2011

When I was young, I'm not a kid anymore.

I stumbled upon this, it's a youtube rapper over a real nice J-dilla beat. It's good;

My favourite thing about it was the hook that comes from this awesome song;

Dove nigger.

Hey, awesome posts James, it's cool to hear ghost and brosoneli on the same track. While we're on a Ghostface tip here is his Dove advert....

Had a look at that list you posted Ak, there's a lot on there I have never heard of. DL'd Neek the exotic and Action Bronson albums, haven't checked them out yet. I'll prob download casual's album too aside from that any recommendations?
