Mr Lif & Brass Menazeri ft Spark - Brothas

Bonus Lif over a Serbian brass band!

JR Not sure if you heard this but still one of my Fav UK tunes in last few years

Ak I enjoyed that Planet Asia and LP track and the large P tune I haven't DL'd that yet. I have that Sadat X and Mr Lif Albums already and they ain't too bad. I also have a different Chaundon CD called Carnage ain't nothing to shout about. Peace and see you Friday. Oh by the way JR we are off to Premier on Sunday and hopefully Reading will smash Swansea back down the M4 on Monday.

New this Wk & what you may have missed!

Vast Aire "OX 2010: A Street Odyssey"
Kool G Rap "Riches, Royalty & Respect"
Canibus & Keith Murray (Undergods) "In Gods We Trust, Crush Microphones To Dust"
Blue Sky Black Death "Noir"
Prefuse 73 "The Only She Chapters"
RJD2 presents The Insane Warrior - We Are The Doorways
Count Bass D & Insight - Risk Takers

Dubbledge The Phil Mitchell Crackhead Song

Recent albums I got..

I got that Neek the Exotic and Large Pro album James listed the other day. It's great. Very much in a similar vein to that Large Pro - Main Source album from a couple years back, which I still love.

It's all good, but here's a track off it -

From a youtube search I can see that this was played on Rap is Outta Control, so you may have already heard this one before JR.

I got the Sadat X album 'Experience and Education'.

I bought it on the strength of the single "What did I do".. this was on that spring mixtape that I did; not sure if any of y'all listened to that. The album hasn't disappointed.. here's the Daily News from your man that features the line "Ben Affleck Film bombs, in Bagdhad they're cutting off legs and arms":

Off of Planet Asia - The Bar Mistvah (I don't understand this album title. I'm assuming it's some kind of word play that I don't get the reference, unless he is Jewish or feels some great affinity for Jewish culture) - Great Adventures (ft. Lewis Parker no less).

Last and least, I got Chaundon - Black Dynamite off the strength of his guest spots on various stuff. I say least - it's still good, just not as consistent as the rest of those albums. Sadly I couldn't find the track off it that I wanted to post here on Youtube. Still, worth a spin if you do come across it. The track "Motivation" is a current stand out for me.

Mr. Lif - What About Us?

I don't know if I'm the only one that slept on this but this is off the Lif album "I heard it today" from '09.

Just got the album and I'm really enjoying it. After the turd of Perceptionists and Mo Mega, this is classic Lif.

Just bought a few other new albums as well; some good stuff in there but I'll come back with choice cuts when I've had the chance to listen to everything properly.

Really like that Juggaknots track btw James; have you heard the whole album? Is it all good?

Here's a tune off Canned Goods & Pumpkinhead produced by Marco

Had this Pumpkinhead for a while & forgot it was produced by Marco Polo.

Marco Polo canned Goods link Album from 2005, not heard it yet but could be rubbish

Masta Ace - saturday night live LA Jay remix

Love this, mostly because the beat uses the same sample as apple juice break by BPwolf and Charisma. Not as good as apple juice break though.

J-Rawls a tribute to Souls

Tremendous title, beautiful song. I'm really feeling this tribute series. Thanks for your response James but all of those vids were removed! Gonna find out more about this dude.

Random Axe "The Hex" Music Video

Woo! First track off Random Axe is here, album coming June 14! I been itching for this since I first heard about it. Although I don't really care that much for Guilty Simpson I'm excited for an album of Sean P over Black Milk beats.

J - have you listened to Black Milk much? Love this track off that Elzhi album (he did the beat but doesn't rhyme on this track).. His own stuff is good too. Elzhi is one of the guys from Slum Village btw if you've not heard his album The Preface it's good.. all Black Milk production; or at least most of it anyway.

Got my ticket for the Saigon show today.. real excited about it; shame you're gonna be at Glasto James! Been really enjoying that album as I've got into it more. Even tracks with lame choruses are pretty nice overall and donb't bother me if I listen to the album as a whole even if I don't choose to put those tracks on separately. Been enjoying listening to some of his other tracks on Youtube too.

Too bad you missed Rakim - was gonna ask how he was as I was thinking about going to his solo show... well, Preemo next week anyway; some great gigs going on at the minute!

DJ Primate I really like this guys Beats & TOKIMONSTA

J Rawls is the producer of Lone Catalysts

He also produced a bunch of tunes on Black Star & stuff for Declaime & Aloe Blacc. I like the Lone Catalyst tunes below from Good Music. Yeah heard about that MF Doom gig not that fussed really saw him last year & Im off to Glastonbury and pos Croatia for festivals so hopefully a good hit of music! I'd rather see Portishead. Also Ak I really like that Deodato Vinyl I bought you already had it...

DOOM has been chosen by Portishead to perform at the ATP I'll Be Your Mirror festival that they will curate in July 2011 at London's Alexandra Palace.

Don't know if you knew/cared about this, from his wiki.

New this week!

Ed O.G "A Face In The Crowd"
J. Rawls "The Hip-Hop Affect"
Neek The Exotic & Large Professor "Still On The Hustle"

Keep on Dancin'

I can't believe you don't rate Talib, I've posted 5 great tunes and I'm going to list another bunch that I enjoy. Goddddd he shits on a lot of those half ass rappers out there.

I saw him with Mos def, De La Soul & Rakim in Hammersmith. I missed Rakim.... Mos Def did Auditorium and I was convinced Slick rick was going to come out but he didn't Boooo

Oh yeah and this is not a football blog Jody. If Man U loose to Barcelona do you want me posting a load of B/S on here. Hopefully they won't loose as I hate Messi and find Barcelona's style of football tedious. Also I support English teams no mater who it'sagainst. Oh well Jody you are a Cunt so I suppose it's fitting with the blog. I thought Swansea would get promoted but we can only hope Reading will keep the ENGLISH premier league ENGLISH! God Cardiff got Dicked!

And this doesn't include all his stuff with Black Starr, Hi-Tek, Madlib & Blacksmith

Oh Really - Buckshot & KRS ONE
Know That - Mos Def (Amazing tune)
The Truth - Pharoah Monch
Get Started - Strong Arm Steaddy Gang
Sharp Shooters - Dead Prez
Temperature - Zion I
Oz Tune - Kool G Rap et al
Raise The Bar - Dj Babu
Kindness for Weakness - Dilated Peoples
My Favorite Mutiny - The Coup (Another great tune)
Therapy - The Alchemist
Lost Desire - The Roots

Black Star

Hot Drinks: Wendy's Training Video w Lyrics HD

Haha. I really can't get enough of this. It's a training video from the fast food chain Wendy's on how to make hot drinks.

Those BET things were great btw James.. When is the Kanye one from? I take it that's pretty recent? As he just drops a verse from his last album (lazy!).

The Nicki Minaj bit was surprisingly good I thought.

This what I've been listening to recently Rob Base & Dj E-Z Rock I bought their LP a few years back but this is a classic!

The album cover is great too! I like the Ferrari outfit.

Nice Lewis P Mix Tape here.. & Elzhi Elmatic (Nas Tribute Mixtape)

New Snoop

I really like this new Snoop Tune;

I think this album might be worth a download because the first tune off it was pretty fucking boss too;
(and the video is amazing)

Have you heard the new tune by Styles P and Sean P. It's average and you get the feeling that they only got together because they both have a big P as a surname.  Well, I became sure of this when I read that, Ill Minded, Q-Tip  and Sean P have collabed for a EP called 'Mind you P's and Q's'

Sunday, 8 May 2011

Check out this link this sample haas been used in 2 great tunes.

Oh yeah Jody I couldn't DL that Malcolm & Martin CD as it had a password do you know the password? also Ak when are we going to hear the remix of Big L RIP with Bin Laden RIP you def. need to do that it would be great!

New (Old) Ghostface. Kinda.

Okay I came across this Hidden Darts a collection of unrealeased/b-sides from Ghostface. It has some stuff like the Sun and some stuff of the theadore album, but is definitely worth a DL cause you ain't heard it all before (that's on there) Enough new (old shit) to enjoy, really like this;

When You Walk - omitted from Ironman due to sample bullshit

While I'm here, I was listening to some Dilla and i realised, I've never really heard Slum Village. Are they any good, anything in particular you could recommend?
