Carlton!!!

Cappadonna - 2 tracks from "The Pillage"

Cappadonna - Takes the whole Wu thing to new places. Same kind of loops, same themes but lyrically he really shines and sets himself apart. Some nice samples from cult kung fu flicks as standard.

The Pillage - The whole album is good. I can't find a torrent unfortunately. Great sound great flow. Sometimes I don't know what he's talking about but I'm a grammar school boy from Essex so I suppose that's good in a lot of ways.

Slang Editorial - Terrible video - Concentrate on his rhyming. Nobody else rhymes like that!

After recording this album Cappadonna "intentionally gave up all of his material possessions and walked the streets of Baltimore for 8 months". Then he returned to the rap game and didn't quite match the Pillage. Baltimore is a dangerous place they say. . .

Interesting interview here. Didn't realise sites that looked this bad still existed:

Talkin' bout forgotten classics....

Deadmau5 & Wolfgang Gartner - Animal Rights

Not hip hop by any means, but I've been loving this track for a little while now - give it a go!

new kanye

This is the new Kanye video. It's like 35min long - somewhere between an album sampler and his version of Moonwalker. It's cool. The beat it starts with is the first track off the album - I think this beat sounds very Wu.

The album is tremendous. Really top notch. The production is fantastic throughout, some really good guest spots and Kanye is.. well, Kanye. I'm sure you already know not to expect to be blown away by his lyrical depth.

If you want me to provide a link for the album let me know (I'm at work now, but could upload a copy at home if need be).

Funny you should put that 97 Mentality track up - I hadn't heard that in forever, and looked it up at random last week.

That Pacewon / Mr Green album is really cool btw. Cheers for the hot tip!

Foegotten (by me) classic Wu. 97 Mentality. A lone gem off one of thier lame collabo albums

Pacewon and Mr Green

Discovered these dudes the other day. A rapper producer combo. Pacewon Is pretty unheard of (the poor fucker doesn't even have a Wikipedia page. Which makes him less famous than this cat with a pedophiles name)
Anyway he was apparently in 'The Outsidaz' Who debut on The Fugees single 'Cowboy'. After that they had something to do with Emininem, going to be his crew of choice but Em pick D12 who became really famous while this group disbanded into no wikipedia page oblivion. Pacewon then released an album that bombed (but did feature 'I declare war' the song Sway parodied/covered on that mixtape recently. The sway version is much better though. (I love the flute loop, is it Madlib?)
So, this is the opening track from an album I'm really enjoying now, it came out in 08 I think, link to DL below;

Download their first album 'The only Colour that matters is Green'
Can't find the secon album 'The only number that matters is Won' anywhere. They need to work on their album titles.

EDIT: I hadn't actually watched this video before I posted it. It wins the worst crew member ever, for Pace's massive gutted buddy wearing  a wifebeater and a white, purple and pink shell suit top. I realise this video was made on a shoe string but someone really should have sent him home to change....

Official Video for 'What's up Fatlip'

Paul Flatlanding around Vung Tau.

Why don't embedded players work. this is a fail already. Ak help me out!

Hey. I started this because we don't have a place to post music links to each other. Post any youtube links of decent songs or videos as well as download links/mixcloud and other streaming stuff.  Try to post an introduction if it's someone we've never heard of. Invite anyone you like to join . Anyone who has a decent  taste in music. I imagine it will be mostly Hip Hop and Soul but let's try to make it as diverse as possible. I'll Start of with this it's a video my friend Paul made in Vung Tau. He's rides a BMX this is him and his friend riding what I think is called flatland BMXing.

This wouldn't embed so i've put the videos here in the posts above.

The song is awesome, I hadn't heard it before, it's 'What's up Fatlip?' by Fatlip. A single that he released after leaving Pharcyde. , the original video is one of my favourite Hip Hop videos. It's by Spike Jones.

and is here

Same here just look above for the video

He also made a 20 minute documentary of the same name about Fatlip's life. Despite having an almighty fall from grace (or maybe because of it) He comes across as extremely charismatic and pathetic dude. Well worth a watch here

Ak can you make this thing look cool and/or pretty? I'll come back to try and sort out this embedded failure later.
EDIT, don't have a clue whats going on with this template. WTF? or why embedding is a ballache. Nothing is simple.
